The Hummingbird Bakery gets its second delivery van to speed up cake drops in London!
Until now, The Hummingbird Bakery relied on one single van to deliver its frosting-topped goodness to the capital, but now there are two! Running from our Spitalfields branch on the eastern edge of the City, our shiny new delivery van will be sharing delivery duties with our existing wheels based at our Soho bakery on Wardour Street.
The task of getting our cakes on the road was once the responsibility of one man, our lone ranger, Norman. With his trusty van and sat-nav, he would brave the hectic streets of London, through rain, shine and traffic jams, to get cakes to customers in the four corners of the city. But with the arrival of our second cake-mobile comes a second driver in the form of Hector! He’ll be halving Norman’s mammoth cake delivering schedule and sharing out the postcodes so that each driver has their own turf.
So what does this mean for London cake lovers ordering goodies from us online and in store? Well, it means our delivery system will become that little bit quicker, slicker and cheaper – hurrah! It means fewer disappointed customers who try to book a delivery slot for that last minute birthday cake and find all the delivery slots already booked. It means more happy office workers celebrating their week’s successes with a great big box of cupcakes. And for us it means more happy customers, which is what we’re all about.
So let’s hear it for Hector and Norman – our very own cake delivering heroes.
